#3 I stop to say Thank You to my FAMILY

What is family by the way? Well, a family is obviously composed by a father, mother and siblings. Our family is our shoulder when we cry on and our first stop when we have problems. Family is family.

How do you think people value family these days?

The word family can mean different things to different people. But no matter how our families are made up, most share some common values. It's worth thinking about what these are. Family is really important for us. These days, as what I observed, some people don't usually value their family. I feel that people have thrown family values out the window. They seem to not respect the family as much these days. The younger people seem to look down on the old family values and think we were crazy for having them. There are some people who really value their family. Like, they usually have to time for their family or usually have a bonding together with their mom, dad, brothers and sisters. For me, I value my family in a way that every first day of the month we usually have our devotional. We can call it our bonding time. Valuing my parents may take in the form of gratitude through doing good in school, because its the only way that I can repay everything; for the sacrifices and efforts they've shown me and also to give them a better life, cause its hard to live without parents to guide us in our life. Also, if one member of our family celebrates his/her birthday, we give gifts and pray for them. It's how I value my family.

How would you show you value your parents ten years from now?

Hmmm.. Ten years from now, I'm already 26 at that time. So, my parents are already too old in that time. I value my parents in the way that I will give back what they give to me, not the material things but the most important is that how they cared and loved me when I was still young. Ten years from now, everyone of us will got married and will separate from our parents. But still, if that time will come, I'll still value them and have time to care and listen on their problems.

In what way can you say thank you to your parents now?

The only way that I can say thank you to my parents is by saying I love you because it expresses how much I value all the works, sacrifices and efforts they made just to mold me as a better person. And I always hug them and kiss them, not only to my parents but also to my one and only sister.

So, we should value our family because it's one way to express what we feel for them.
